How does verification work for students?
Students sign up with their institutional email (.edu, .ac.uk, .edu.au, etc.). We auto-detect known academic domains. For non-standard domains, your department pre-authorizes student emails directly with Adrian during onboarding.
What about FERPA / GDPR compliance?
BigDevSoon stores minimal student data (email, GitHub username, project progress). We do not share student data with third parties. FERPA-compliant data handling is available for US institutions on request.
Do you offer a launch discount for early university partners?
Yes — the first 3 university partners get 20% off year 1 across all tiers (so the Department tier drops from $3 to $2.40/student/mo). Locked in for 12 months from contract signing. Email Adrian directly to claim a slot.
How does invoicing work?
Net-30 invoicing in USD via Stripe. Annual billing with semester-aligned payment schedules available. Wire transfer accepted for orders > $5K.
Do you offer instructor training?
Yes. Adrian runs a 1-hour onboarding session for new department partners covering how to map BDS projects to your curriculum, how to assign work via shared collections, and how to evaluate students from their public solutions and portfolios. Free for university partners.
Can students keep access after the semester ends?
When a student is removed from the seat allocation (typically end of semester), they retain read-only access to their work for 90 days. They can convert to an individual paid plan to keep building.
